About the Role

Position Summary


The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive, family-centered nursing care to pediatric patients in a primary care setting. This role supports providers in delivering preventive, acute, and chronic care while promoting health education and positive patient outcomes. The RN serves as a key clinical resource for patients, families, and the care team.


Key Responsibilities


  • Perform patient assessments, including vital signs, growth measurements, and health histories

  • Triage patient concerns via phone or in person and determine appropriate level of care

  • Administer immunizations, medications, and treatments in accordance with pediatric guidelines

  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and minor office-based interventions

  • Provide patient and caregiver education on development, nutrition, medications, and disease management

  • Manage and respond to patient messages, test results, and prescription refill requests

  • Coordinate care, including referrals, follow-ups, and chronic disease management

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)

  • Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team-based care activities

  • Clinic & EMR workflow optimization including staff training

  • Managing clinical support staff

  • Assist evaluating, developing and deploying clinical and administrative initiatives with clinic administration


Work Environment & Schedule


  • Outpatient pediatric primary care clinic

  • Daytime hours, 8 am to 5 pm

  • No evenings, weekends or holidays

  • Collaborative, team-based care environment with frequent interaction with children and families


Physical Requirements


  • Ability to stand, walk, and move between exam rooms for extended periods

  • Ability to lift and assist pediatric patients as needed

  • Manual dexterity for administering injections and performing clinical tasks

Requirements

Required Qualifications


  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to be certified

  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children and families

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced outpatient setting


Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

  • Previous experience in pediatrics, family medicine, or ambulatory care

  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems

  • Certification in pediatric nursing (CPN) or ambulatory care nursing (RN-BC)

  • Bilingual (e.g., Spanish/English)
