About the Role
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive, family-centered nursing care to pediatric patients in a primary care setting. This role supports providers in delivering preventive, acute, and chronic care while promoting health education and positive patient outcomes. The RN serves as a key clinical resource for patients, families, and the care team.
Key Responsibilities
Perform patient assessments, including vital signs, growth measurements, and health histories
Triage patient concerns via phone or in person and determine appropriate level of care
Administer immunizations, medications, and treatments in accordance with pediatric guidelines
Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and minor office-based interventions
Provide patient and caregiver education on development, nutrition, medications, and disease management
Manage and respond to patient messages, test results, and prescription refill requests
Coordinate care, including referrals, follow-ups, and chronic disease management
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team-based care activities
Clinic & EMR workflow optimization including staff training
Managing clinical support staff
Assist evaluating, developing and deploying clinical and administrative initiatives with clinic administration
Work Environment & Schedule
Outpatient pediatric primary care clinic
Daytime hours, 8 am to 5 pm
No evenings, weekends or holidays
Collaborative, team-based care environment with frequent interaction with children and families
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and move between exam rooms for extended periods
Ability to lift and assist pediatric patients as needed
Manual dexterity for administering injections and performing clinical tasks

Requirements
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to be certified
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children and families
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced outpatient setting
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Previous experience in pediatrics, family medicine, or ambulatory care
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
Certification in pediatric nursing (CPN) or ambulatory care nursing (RN-BC)
Bilingual (e.g., Spanish/English)
