About the Role
Our Triage Nurses provides clinical assessment and guidance to patients via telephone or telehealth platforms. This role involves evaluating patient symptoms, determining urgency of care, and directing patients to appropriate levels of care while ensuring high-quality, patient-centered service. The position offers flexible work arrangements, including on-site, remote, or hybrid options.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments via phone or virtual platforms using established clinical protocols
Triage patient symptoms and determine appropriate level of care (e.g., home care, clinic visit, emergency services)
Provide evidence-based clinical advice and health education to patients and caregivers
Document all patient interactions accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) system
Collaborate with providers and care teams as needed
Escalate urgent or complex cases according to established guidelines
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing training
Work Environment & Schedule
Triage provided during normal business hours, 8 am to 5 pm
No weekends, evenings or holidays
Flexible work arrangements: on-site, remote, or hybrid based on organizational needs
Remote employees must maintain a secure, private workspace and reliable internet connection
Physical & Technical Requirements
Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer
Strong typing and documentation skills
For remote roles: secure internet connection and compliance with IT/security standards

Requirements
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (state-specific requirements apply)
Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical nursing experience (e.g., ER, urgent care, primary care, or similar)
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Excellent verbal communication and active listening abilities
Proficiency with electronic health records and basic computer systems
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Preferred Qualifications
Previous phone triage, telehealth, or call center experience
Previous pediatric care experience strongly preferred
Certification in ambulatory care nursing (RN-BC) or triage nursing
Bilingual or multilingual skills
